Forge & Foundry was established in 2020 by Max Hill. His original idea was to set up a company specialising in traditionally made cast iron goods for the home and garden. It wasn’t long before that speciality was extended to include goods made from other metals in all sorts of attractive retro designs.
In so doing, Max learned a deep respect for the skills and traditions of the past, both here in the UK and in countries all over the world.
It’s why the quality and integrity of our products is so important to us.
We take pride in just how heavy and solidly built our cast iron items really are. In how authentic they are made to look and feel. Also in the old style charm and nostalgia which characterises so much of the metalwork in our range.
Being extra heavy duty means so many of our goods are also very durable so will last quite naturally for many years to come.
Not only is this true of our well known traditional items, but also of the most ordinary, simple, everyday objects too. We value classic or vintage designs just as we celebrate some of those that are different, long forgotten, most unusual and even quirky.
At the same time we are only too conscious of being as environmentally friendly as we can. So when we are able to reclaim and salvage older goods we do. Quite apart from the attractive nature of these genuine originals it is good to be able to offer such items a whole new lease of life. Where needed these goods are sensitively refurbished and repainted before being added to our range.
Through his research and travel Max has created this wonderfully diverse collection of decorative and practical metal artefacts. They’re rich in heritage, full of character and beautifully designed for areas all round the home and garden.
