We present our enchanting fictional character Mr Ratty our rat statue. Crafted from solid cast iron, unlike a variety of lighter cold cast iron resin variants elsewhere. Each statue includes a natural rust finish, which left untreated will develop its own unique patina.

Mr Ratty is well adapted to give your garden a real sense of ‘Wind in the Willows’, as he firmly clutches onto his challis.

Rat Statue Maintenance

Our cast iron and aluminium garden statue range needs very little maintenance. Once the verdigris or rust finish have been applied, over time each piece will develop its own unique patina based on the conditions the surface of the metal is exposed to.

If left in a damp wet environment such as a pond, moss will likely grow. In dry weather the surface texture and colour will become more weathered.

Whilst the rusty finish tends to be more desired, you can paint over the rust if you’re looking for a smoother unformed finish. simply apply a primer to the surface before painting.
