Max Hill founded Forge & Foundry in 2020 with a vision to establish a company focused on crafting exquisite cast iron goods for homes and gardens. However, this initial specialization soon expanded to include a diverse range of products made from various metals, all boasting captivating retro designs.
Throughout this journey, Max developed a profound admiration for the time-honored skills and traditions of bygone eras, both within the United Kingdom and across nations worldwide.

We take pride in just how heavy and solidly built our cast iron items really are. In how authentic they are made to look and feel. Also in the old style charm and nostalgia which characterises so much of the metalwork in our range.
Being extra heavy duty means so many of our goods are also very durable so will last quite naturally for many years to come. As an example, our Large Hand Forged Wrought Iron Log Basket has been carefully created by a specialist artisan. With its intricate detailing, it’s been made from high quality materials to stand the test of time.
Not only is this true of our well known traditional items, but also of the most ordinary, simple, everyday objects too. We value classic or vintage designs just as we celebrate some of those that are different, long forgotten, most unusual and even quirky.
Sustainability
At the same time we are only too conscious of being as environmentally friendly as we can. So when we are able to reclaim and salvage older goods we do. Quite apart from the attractive nature of these genuine originals it is good to be able to offer such items a whole new lease of life. Where needed these goods are sensitively refurbished and repainted before being added to our range.
