Cast Aluminium Hippo Sculpture – 35cm, Indoor or Outdoor
A hippo at its most formidable, with its jaws held wide open and its teeth bared. The casting is detailed enough to show the folds of the hide clearly, and extra detail has been etched by hand, so it reads as a considered sculpture and not a simple ornament.
It’s cast from solid aluminium and painted in bronze tones, and at 3kg it has the weight to match its subject. At 35cm wide and 23cm high, it’s tough enough to stand outdoors, by a pond or among planting, and it works just as well as a striking feature on an indoor shelf, sideboard or desk. Being aluminium, it won’t rust.
A confident, characterful piece for anyone who likes their décor to have some presence, and a distinctive gift for a wildlife lover.
