Ancient Greek Garden Statue
This little cherub statue takes its inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman art. Known as a putto, the figure became popular again in Renaissance times and grew closely associated with Cupid and Eros, so he carries a real sense of idealised love and romance about him — a classic, timeless piece for the garden.
He looks at home in all sorts of spots: beside a bench, out on the terrace or patio, next to a water feature, or tucked among the planting. Cast in solid iron and finished in an aged verdigris, he's built to stay outside year-round and will weather naturally over time. Left somewhere damp he may gather a little moss; in drier spots the surface takes on a more weathered look — either way, the patina is part of his charm.
A characterful, hard-wearing garden statue with genuine classical appeal, and one that will go on quietly for many years.
